Senior Engineering Manager (f/m/d) • Berlin

At Splicky we are a team of 24, hopefully soon 25, programmatic enthusiasts with modern office space in the heart of Kreuzberg. We provide agencies and direct customers with our platform, Splicky, which is one of the leading Demand Side Platforms (DSP), that allows the automated purchasing of digital advertising space in real time. Since 2015 we are part of the Goldbach AG and member of the TXGroup and we are continuously expanding our business with new features, products, and channels. We grew substantially in the last years and now strive to expand our product, which is why we need you as Senior Engineering Manager (f/m/d).

Your mission

Lead your team through a stage of rapid growth and organization. Manage a team of 5+ developers and help the CTO with your insights to grow the IT-department from 10 to 20 people and beyond within the next year. Give us your insights on strategic topics and: 

• Work closely with the CTO to align on engineering strategy, high-level architecture and team-culture
• Work in close cooperation with the Product Manager to support planning and innovation of Splicky
• Design and implement cutting-edge features on our customer-facing platform
• Hold one-on-one meetings with the members of your team to coach,plan careers, set goals, review performance and give feedback
• Foster a culture of knowledge sharing, openess, kindness and continuous improvement
• Develop our engineers in their technical and soft skills while ensuring your team stays happy, healthy and productive
• Manage dependencies and expectations, build trust with all stakeholders
• You are also encouraged to expand this list as we move along :)

Your amazing skills

We are looking for someone with the experience to lead an international team within a flexible work environment as well as:

• At least 5 years experience in developing, releasing and scaling software products
• Fluency in English with German being an advantage
• Intercultural knowledge and communication skills within a fast growing
• international environment
• Extensive knowledge building applications with Java or comparable programming languages
• Experience working with JavaScript and other frontend frameworks (React.JS, Vue.js, Angular.js) and Node.js, PHP or comparable backend languages
• Know-how in managing and developing a team of international engineers with diverse set of skills
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Comfortable working in a hybrid remote/on-site environment (mutually agreed office days)

Additional Skills:

• Several years experience leading a team within a flexible Start-up environment
• Great German language skills are beneficial while we also offer language courses through our Tx-Academy
